"8 more small cars to hit Indian roads in near future". Do you think it's a whopper? Well, think again!

I can tell you, we are awaiting at least one small car from every single car manufacturer in India. And guess who is coming with it this time! It's Skoda. Some of you may not know, but Skoda is a budget brand of Volkswagen family. :) Hard to believe, isn't it?

So, what is Skoda bringing here? Well, they've a huge line up waiting to be launched. The first to come is, Skoda Fabia, a hatch, actually a premium hatch. Come October 2007 and production of this all new 2007 Skoda will kick off at its Aurangabad plant. Car will be offered with both, diesel and petrol options. The car is based on Volkswagen AG A04 platform and will sport peppy 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre engine options.

Car will be priced anywhere between Rs. 7-9 lakhs, not an inexpensive car. But then, it's a Skoda, isn't it?
